This post was definitely, definitely posted on Friday and I definitely didn't forget to hit publish until early Saturday morning. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Anyway, welcome to this week's Friday Five - the segment where I select five new songs released this week to share with you and give my thoughts on. Remember that they're not in any particular order. Enjoy!
5. Babz - Ghost
Ghost by Babz stars us off nice and gritty with a creepy and wobbly tune, released this week through the Manic Mind Collective. Massive vibes and even more massiver bass make this track a great listen.

4. EVILNET - SHADOW BEAST
SHADOW BEAST by EVILNET is a self-released banger with a Hunt: Showdown-esque intro featuring plucky strings that lead into a giant, slowly chugging metallic drop. Huge tune that should make it into your rotation ASAP.

3. KUMERA - BANKAI!
BANKAI by KUMERA packs some serious anime angst alongside sounds that aren't messing around. An atmospheric intro with hints of bass and an energetic vocal sample leads into a cascading wall of bass that only let up to fit more vocal cuts before jumping back in.
2. GUPPI - DROWN EP
DROWN by GUPPI released through
MALIGNANT differs from the rest of the list in the sense that it is actually a four track EP, rather than a single. And in case you're not familiar with GUPPI, they have a very distinct style that I'd describe as part
Loompaskettee, part
um.. and part something else entirely his own that I can't put into words. Regardless, this EP slaps hard, I fuck with it and I think it's worth a little taste test if you want new music.

1. GorillaT - Ascend (feat. elena)
Ascend by GorillaT featuring elena is a beautiful, melody masterpiece. It opens an emotional intro featuring haunting vocals and orchestral instrumentation that quickly melds into a short hip-hoppy section before ramping things up into a headbanging beast of a drop. A must listen in my opinion.
